Wolf Vostell (Leverkusen, 14 October 1932 – Berlin, 3 April 1998) was a German painter, sculptor and artist. He was a pioneer of video art and installations, as well as a reference figure within the Fluxus movement. Although he was not, at this stage, in contact with the American environment, he introduced into Europe an art form similar to that which was being developed by Allan Kaprow in the same years: the happening.
