Wainer Vaccari Biography

Wainer Vaccari (born in Modena in 1949) is an Italian painter, sculptor and illustrator.
Wainer Vaccari began his artistic career in the 1970s with an exhibition at the Modena gallery "La Sfera". However, his professional life took off a little later thanks to the meeting with the Modena gallery owner Emilio Mazzoli, with whom he organized his first solo exhibition in 1983. The following year, while his production was compared with the Italian mannerist art of the sixteenth century and the visionary figuration of the Nordic nineteenth century, Vaccari participated in two important collective exhibitions: "The school of Athens" in Acireale and the "Trigon" Biennial in Graz.
His work has led him to exhibit in many European galleries and museums, including the Susan Wyss gallery in Zurich and the Kunsthal in Rotterdam. In 1992, the prestigious Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam acquired one of his great works entitled Tondo. The 90s were marked by numerous personal and collective exhibitions which consolidated his presence on the international art scene. In 2000, Vaccari had a stylistic turning point which manifested itself in exhibitions such as the one at the Emilio Mazzoli Gallery in Modena (2001), the Pack Gallery in Milan (2002) and the Kunsthaus in Hamburg (2005). In 2011 it was exhibited at the Italian Pavilion of the Venice Biennale. His art has always remained evolving, and Vaccari continues to participate in important exhibitions in Italy and abroad.
