Ponti Gio' (Milan, 1891-1979) Gio' Ponti graduated in Architecture at the Milan Polytechnic in 1921. In 1923 he participated in the Biennale of Decorative Arts in Monza and began a design activity at the Richard Ginori ceramic industry. In 1925 he won the “Grand Prix” at the Paris Exhibition and founded the magazine “Domus”. In the 1930s he organized the fifth triennial in Milan and after having created many objects in different fields (chairs, lamps, kitchen objects), he was offered a professorship at the Faculty of Architecture of the Polytechnic of Milan. In the 1950s he created his most important works, such as the second Montecatini office building or the Pirelli Skyscraper.
