Antonio Navarra Biography
Antonio Navarra was born in Monterotondo in 1965 and spent his childhood in various institutions. From an early age, he showed a great interest in art, using any plastic material to create his works. During elementary school, he showed a strong affinity for drawing and coloring. At eight years old he painted his first oil painting, and from that moment on, painting would become his main passion. At the age of ten, he entered the boys' city of Rome, where he discovered artistic ceramics at twelve and had his own little room to paint at thirteen. After graduating in applied art, he decided to live alone while continuing to paint and refine his practice in ceramics. Later, he enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts, studying sculpture to improve his painting technique. At twenty-four, he opened a ceramics company, which he quickly expanded into a factory with fifteen employees. After creating a fresco in a building in Paris, he spent three months exploring the city, also experiencing the life of a street artist. Returning to Italy, he began his career as a painter by selling his works to various galleries and frequenting the salons of Viale Ceccarini in Riccione. His style is based on the search for beauty between the earthly and the spiritual, using every possible material to create his pictorial and sculptural works. Navarra is inspired by the three great abstract entities: sign, sound and thought, which gave life to the arts of painting, music and literature. His very particular stylistic note is based on the pointillist pictorial path and the search for beauty.
