Formanova Biography
Formanova was born from a combination of creativity, passion and entrepreneurial spirit of Gianni Moscatelli. Born in 1930 and the youngest son of six brothers, he began working at a renowned furniture industrial complex in Brianza at the age of thirteen. After obtaining a diploma from the Istituto Superiore di Design in 1959 and demonstrating considerable drawing and planning skills over the years, he founded the company, creating a range of products including armchairs and chairs initially, then expanding its production with furniture, desks and tables. These objects feature a design with pure and functional lines, masterfully crafted using precious woods, steel, fabrics and natural leathers. The products are considered "timeless" because, despite their origins from the past, they still retain an avant-garde appearance today. From the 1950s to the 1970s, Formanova gained a prominent place in the history of furniture and design. Examples of this are the Dolly armchair, designed in 1960, and the Poney armchair from 1970, which over time have kept their originality and charm intact; in the same way, its elegant office furniture made of walnut wood or precious Rio rosewood, an essence now unobtainable as it has been protected by protection laws for many years, are an example of refined retro taste. In our catalog we offer a linear desk from this series in Rio rosewood. The central desk has a solid steel structure, composed of a crosspiece and two legs in the shape of an inverted "T", which support a body underneath the top containing a compartment on one side and three drawers on the other.
