Alfredo Chighine (Milan, 1914 - Pisa, 1974). He studied at the Higher Institute of Decorative Arts in Monza and after the world war, he enrolled at the Brera Academy, where he attended Manzù's lessons, dedicating himself in particular to drawing and sculpture, specializing in wooden creations with a neo-archaic flavour. In 1948 he participated in the Venice Biennale and at the same time, in those years, he exhibited at well-known galleries. In 1952 he was present at the Milan Triennale and distanced himself from sculpture to dedicate himself to painting, initially favoring landscapes and still lifes and, subsequently, abstract compositions with naturalistic references. He travels and works in Italy and Europe, but also in Japan and America. In 1958 he returned to attend the Venice Biennale, in 1960 at the Milan Triennale and the following year at the Sao Paulo Biennial in Brazil.
