Bruno Cassinari (Piacenza, 1912 - Milan, 1992). He attended courses at the Piacenza School of Art and began to sculpt portraits of his mother in clay in 1926. In 1938 he graduated from the Brera Academy and began selling his works. Vittorini discovers Bruno's talent and presents the catalog of his first solo exhibition at the Corrente gallery. Success came with the winning of two important prizes: Young Painters Prize and Bergamo Prize. In 1946 he joined Nuova Sessione, a Venetian movement which included Birolli, Santomaso and Vedova. In 1947 he went to Paris to exhibit at the Il Milione gallery and in 1948 he exhibited at the Venice Biennale. During the summer of 1949, having gone to Antibes, he met Picasso who, interested in his work, invited him to exhibit at the Antibes Museum. Back in Milan he won numerous awards and his work went around the world, exhibiting in major international cities.
