Carlo Cane (1951 - ) was born in Valenza (AL) in 1951. After having trained artistically at the private school of Giulia Pace Zelaschi, he attended the studio of the painter Gian Paolo Cavalli, refining his color technique. Miniaturist and goldsmith for several years, he has held personal and collective exhibitions in public and private spaces in Italy and abroad (including the United States, Hong Kong, England and Spain, Switzerland). In 2011 he participated in the 54th Venice Biennale – Italian Pavilion at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Turin. He lives and works in Valmadonna (AL). He supports the Darwinian idea because he appreciates nature and how it evolves. He contrasts his surreal visions with structures in which man overbearingly and egocentrically shapes the territory in his own interest. Carlo underlines the critical need to create a world in which every living being has its own habitat, presenting the observer with perplexities, infinite spaces, lush vegetation, insects and animals - all bearers of clear aesthetic values - intent on recovering a lost place.
