Enrico Baj (Milan, 1924 - Vergiate, 2003). After completing his classical high school studies, he enrolled in the Faculty of Medicine, which he subsequently abandoned, to simultaneously attend the Faculty of Law and the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera. His interest in literature led him to form relationships with important writers and to collaborate with some of them. In 1951 he founded the Nuclear Painting Movement, created to counter the rigor of academicism and collaborated with some magazines, publishing books on art. His work is influenced by Dadaism, therefore he dedicates himself to collage and the use of the most varied materials. Desecrating irony will be a constant in his artistic production. In 1954 Baj opposed forced geometrization and compositional rigor with the International Movement for an Imaginary Bauhaus and in 1957 he joined the Manifesto Against Style.
