Valerio Adami (Bologna, 1935). He moved to Milan where he studied at the Brera Academy in 1954. In 1959 he held his first solo show at the Galleria Naviglio in Milan. Between 1961 and 1964 he worked between London and Paris and in 1967 he created a series of works in New York which were exhibited the following year at the Venice Biennale. At the beginning he was influenced by expressionist painting which he abandoned in the following years, for approach the forms of American Pop Art, from which he will develop a cartoonish and ironic style. His art has a sociological interest and is based on life experiences and interpersonal relationships. His paintings are placed alongside current journalistic material, which he manipulates and breaks down, giving it a new form. From the selected material, the artist creates a drawing which he projects onto the canvas and colors with flat and uniform backgrounds.
